I wrote a letter to the then vice chancellor of the university,sir ashutosh chaudhhary and sent copies of all his correspondence in this regard and requested him to take appropriate action against the wrong and misleading sentence related to tipu sultan in this text book of history.go sir ashutosh chowdhary soon replied that dr. the said bookn to shastri has been removed from the syllabus .but i was surprised to see that the same incident of suicide was present in the history course books in the junior high school classes in uttar pradesh in since 1972 as well .in this connection mhatma gandhi comment is also readable which he made in his newspaper ,young india on page 31 in the issue of january 23,1930 ad .he wrote that fatah ali (tipu sultan) of mysore has been presented by foreign historians as a victim of bigotry on the contry ,he had very good relation with the hindu subjects.the archeology department of mysore state (now karnataka)has thirty such letters ,which tipu sultan wrote ...

That when i was doing research on tipu sultan in alahabad in since 1928 some officials of the students union of anglo bengali college came to me and invited me to inaugurate his history association these people came to me straight from college he also had course books in his hands.coincedentally i caught sight of his history book.when i opened the chapter on tipu sultan the sentence that surprised me the most was this.
