ARTICLE FOUR=TIPU SULTAN HISTORY
I wrote a letter to the then vice chancellor of the university, sir ashutosh chaudhhary and sent copies of all his correspondence in this regard and requested him to take appropriate action against the wrong and misleading sentence related to tipu sultan in this text book of history.go sir ashutosh chowdhary soon replied that dr. the said bookn to shastri has been removed from the syllabus .but i was surprised to see that the same incident of suicide was present in the history course books in the junior high school classes in uttar pradesh in since 1972 as well .in this connection mhatma gandhi comment is also readable which he made in his newspaper ,young india on page 31 in the issue of january 23,1930 ad .he wrote that fatah ali (tipu sultan) of mysore has been presented by foreign historians as a victim of bigotry on the contry ,he had very good relation with the hindu subjects.the archeology department of mysore state (now karnataka)has thirty such letters ,which tipu sultan wrote to jagadguru shankara charya of sringeri math in 1793 ad in one of these letters ,tipu sultan refering to the resiept of shankara charya letters has requested him to do penance and prosperity of him and the whole world .finally he also asked shankara charya. it is requested that they return to mysore ,because living in a counry with good people brings rain .good crops and prosperity .this letter deserves to be written in golden letters in the history of india .young india ,
Tipu sultan gave valuable gifts in the form of land and other things to hindu temples espeecially shri venkataraman ,shrinivasa and shri ranganatha temples .some of the temples were in the premises of his palaces.this is a living proof of this open mind generosity and tolerance .this reveals the fact that tipu was a great martyr.one who would by any means be cinsidered a true martyr on the road to freedom did not feel any trouble with the sound of hindu templebells in his worship .when tipu,s body was found in the corpses of those unknoun soldiers,it was seen that even after death ,he had a sword in his hand the sword which his historycal words are worth rememberingeven today.
